How I spent October

Another month is in the past. October went by fast. I spent a week on a cruise ship in the Eastern Caribbean. I loved it. I felt a little seasick a couple times, but would have another drink and would feel okay. I went with 3 of my guy friends . . . I ended up with a 2nd degree burn from a curling iron mishap, another friend ended up in a wheelchair/crutches for the remainder of the trip, but all that aside, it was awesome.

We left out of Miami, and stayed at the coolest hotel ever. It was normally $415 a night, but we found it on Travelzoo for $150 a night. It was totally worth it. We watched the sunset over Miami from the pool, and their was even a liquor store that delivered to the room.

We cruised to Samana, St. Thomas, Tortola, and the private island. It was hard coming home, I'm ready to go on vacation again right now!

It's been awhile. . . .

I guess summer went by to fast, and was to crazy to sit and write about it. . . But now it's fall. . . and it has come quite quickly. Last week 80's, this week 40's.

Summer was a little crazy. Spent a lot of time dealing with a very good friend going thru a breakup with is boyfriend after 17 years. The BF was using drugs, lying, stealing, and I think cheating. We found him trying to overdose with a razor one night. The BF went off to drug rehab, the friend was heart broken. No one knows where they will end up . . . they are not good for each other, so I hope the BF gets help and I hope the friend learns that it's better to be alone, than with someone that tries to tear you down every chance they get.

I did have some fun this summer. . . My parents bought a house in Las Vegas, so went down there a couple times. Went to a few concerts, Kenny Chesney and Brandi Carlile again. Lagoon with friends. Many nights out on patios sharing drinks and good conversations, farmers markets, and trips to the dog park.

And now that it's finally October, my friends and I are taking a trip. We leave next week for a 7 day cruise to the Eastern Caribbean. I'm going with my best boys in the world to celebrate a couple of their birthdays.

Indigo Girls

What an awesome night last night was. I guess I should say what an awesome day, since it did start early. My friend Lisa went up at 8 AM to secure our spot in line. . . I ended up at Red Butte around Noon, and was there until after 10 PM. We created a tent city to shade us from the sun, had a few drink, and listened to the sound check. By the time the gates open we had "runners" that had our blankets and secured our front row spot.

Just got back from a relaxing week in Lake Tahoe. I love it there. . . never had been in the summer. I would go back today if I could. I'm very luck to have a friend with a condo there, and an open invitation. This will definitely become a quick getaway a few times a year.

Where did May go?

It's been a while. . . . the past month and a half, have been a blur. May, My Favorite month, came and went. We celebrated Mother's day with My mom and my Grandma. Visited with My grandpa on his 92nd birthday. Had myself an awesome birthday that I was completely spoiled by my friends. Planned a trip to Tahoe, and also booked a cruise.

To start lets talk about my awesome birthday. I love birthday parties, but other peoples birthdays. I tend to get a little depressed around my birthday. I have two friends with close birthdays to mine, so we decided to have a party and make it fun. We had a little BBQ with good drinks, and better friends. I was SPOILED by my boys. My gifts were amazing, and so me.

This actually was not technically a birthday present, but since it was given to me on my birthday, I can include it in my favorites. My friend K & N went on a cruise for a month, I watched their cat. So gift were brought home from Europe. This is Flo, she was custom made for me in Florence Italy! I Love her! : )

I also got two Zero Gravity Lounge chairs for the back yard.

Why can't the weekends be a little longer?

It was a much needed weekend after a week of being sick! Friday worked my first full day of work after taking sick days and half days all week. My friend D called and asked if I wanted to try to win $25 Wicked tickets. So we went down and tried our luck in the lottery, we didn't win Friday night, so we decided to treat ourselves to dinner at Biaggi's. It was good to go out and have some good food and better company. We decided at dinner that we would try for Wicked tickets on Saturday also.

So Saturday we met up downtown, walked over to Capital theatre, entered the lottery again, and again walked away without tickets, so we went for a little shopping at gateway. Then it was time to part ways because I needed to get ready for Brandi Carlile.

Brandi was awesome! The state room is a great venue. She sounded awesome, and even did a song completely unplugged. I took some video, but I found this one from someone a little closer than me.

It was great times with some old friends that I hadn't seen in a while.

Sunday D and I had plans to try to get Wicked tickets again.  And guess what!  D's name was called very first.  So we got 2 tickets to the Sunday Matinee.  Our seats ended up being on row 3.  So glad I got to see the show.

After Wicked we went over to dinner, then went to see my friend Curry play his softball game.

Then the weekend ended with a phone call from K & N who are on a cruise. . they finally had cell phone reception, so got a very fuzzy phone call from the Azores! It was so good to hear from them.

Can't wait until next weekend!

Happy Birthday Rosco!

Today is Rosco's 5th birthday. Crazy that 5 years can go by so quickly. Five years ago I was settling into a long distance relationship, the gf home for the summer. We had a dog, and were thinking of another, possibly a pug. Who knew that on April 16, 2004 our baby would have been born. She didn't come into our life for another 11 weeks.

She was quite the handful as a puppy. Luckily the first few months her other mom was around to make sure she didn't do too much damage.




Or maybe she didn't get watched to well.

She was so cute as a puppy.






For her 1st birthday we thru quite the party. All her doggy friends came over, it was pizza and party hats for the dogs.





Shortly after her 1st birthday her mom and I parted ways, she lived with her other mom for a bit, but then she came back to me. BEST THING ever. We met new friends including her long lost BFF. Nugget.



A few months after meeting Nugget, and having more fun than she thought possible she torn her ACL. It was off to surgery, and a metal plate, a few screws, and months of recovery, she was good as new.



By Christmas, she was almost ready to run again. She went to met Santa for the 2nd time.




She turned two . . . then three. . . then four. . . and now she's five. She's the best dog in the world, knows how to comfort me when I'm sad, protects me when I'm scared, the best car ride partner ever. She loves all other dogs, and loves going to the park, but is just as content sleeping on the couch.
